Van Sant Shoots Straight

 

I was a little tough on Milk, considering I cried a lot when I saw it, but I hold GVS to a high standard.

In the picture there you've got Sean Penn with Emile Hirsch. In the beginning of the movie, Penn has long hair and a beard and I thought it was Richard Edson.

I didn't say so in the review but man did I dislike Hirsch in this movie. That kid's got no chops. Allison Pill was awesome though--she looks cool with that curly hair.

Loved that Milk review. I had a pretty emotional reaction while watching, but then felt like the film smelled like Oscar bait after. Still, I think Gus can do whatever he wants. It's a really good movie.
